The movies are full of glitz and glamour ...and they also promote lifestyles and behaviors that they very effectively and expertly glamorize.

It seems that if we look at the Ten Commandments listed in the Bible, given by God ...that somewhere in some movie, there is the  glamorization of  the violation of all of them.

  • There are many false gods in the fantasy movies ...which are among the most popular.
  • Among all the false gods are many man-made graven images on screen.
  • The Name of our Lord is constantly taken in vain.
  • There is often nothing respected or holy ...on any day.
  • The youth is elevated, not by what the past would deem as positive ...and the parents are often depicted as just old fashioned and dumb.
  • Killing is rampant and mostly unavoidable in the movies.
  • Marriage relationships and those relationships outside of marriage are often not pure.
  • Stealing is seen as conquest and conquering ...and for gain.
  • To lie ...is to advance, and the end justifies the means.
  • What is not coveted??
Of course, there are still a few good movies being made ...but, what our youth is saturated with is mostly far from that standard.

And some say that the movies influence our youth in the wrong way. Others say that it is not good to shield our youth so much ...and the movies are merely an image of what our society is.

Yet, we were Created in His image ...and there is a tendency, and many influences to fall away from that.

And the movies do their part in all of that.

Let's review the Ten Commandments: (and remember, they are written by God)

  • Thou shall have no other gods before Me
  • Thou shall not make unto thee any graven image
  • Thou shall not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vain
  • Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy
  • Honour thy father and they mother
  • Thou shall not kill
  • Thou shall not commit adultery
  • Thou shall not steal
  • Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor
  • Thou shall not covet
